Description of the life of King Carl XII of Sweden, sixth part, about the battle in Kalisch in Poland and Lithuania.

Extensive Description of the Life of Charles XII, the King of Sweden is a ten volume work by German historian Samuel Faber (1657–1716), the sixth part of which describes the period of the Northern War (1700–1721). The book provides a detailed account of how the Ruler of the Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth Augustus II was removed from the throne and the events that followed: the election of King Stanisław Leszczyński, the Sandomierz Confederation that was formed against him, the Treaty of Altranstädt, signed on 24 September 1706, and the Battle of Kalisz that took place on 29 October of the same year. The book includes a map of the Kingdom of Poland and Grand Duchy of Lithuania, drawn by Erik Dahlbergh (1625–1703) and decorated with the coats of arms of the Voivodeships.

2nd: Scheme of the battle near Kalisz on 29 October 1706. On 29 October 1706, Augustus II led the allied armies of the Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth, Russia, and Saxony and defeated Stanisław Leszczyński’s Polish divisions and the army of Sweden near Kalisz.

3rd: Official dinner after the Treaty of Altranstädt, signed by Augustus II and Charles XII on 24 September 1706. The Treaty of Altranstädt states that the King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania Augustus II gives up the throne of the Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth, acknowledges King Stanisław Leszczyński, and breaks the alliance with Russia and other enemies of Sweden. When Russian Tsar Peter I beat Charles XII on 8 July 1709 in the Battle of Poltava, Augustus II declared the Treaty of Altranstädt invalid.
