Originally published in two volumes, here the two parts are published together, with continuous pagination and signatures.

Binding: modern amateur brown calf, backstrip with raised bands, unlettered, mod. endpapers, sound.

Marcin Smiglecki (1563–1618) was a professor at Vilnius University, Master of Liberal Arts and Philosophy, Doctor of Theology, and one of the most famous philosophers and scholastic logicians in Lithuania. He became famous in Europe for his work Logic, in which he discusses scholastic logic. Smiglecki provides a systematic description of the problems of logic and comments on the concept of logic presented by authors of the antiquity period and the Middle Ages. The work was used as a textbook in both Lithuanian and other European universities. It was first published in Ingolstadt, Germany, in 1618, and republished in 1634, 1638, and 1658 in Oxford.
