Text of the congratulation speech held on the occasion of the Truce or Treaty of Jam Zapolski (near Nowgorod), between King Stephen of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania, and the Russian Czar Iwan IV on 15 January 1582. It was one of the treaties that ended the Livonian War. It followed the successful Livonian campaign of Stephen Báthory, culminating in the Siege of Pskov. - The author was a member of a prominent family and canon of the Cracow church, he was King Stephen's private secretary and had been Hungarian chancellor. His older brother Stanislaw Warszewicki, was a Jesuit priest at the Swedish court.

Oration to Polish King Stephen to Offer Congratulations on the Truce Signed with Grand Duke of Muscovy Ivan by the secretary to Stephen Bathory, diplomat, and author of political works Christoph Warsevicki (1543–1603) was written to celebrate the 1582 peace treaty signed in Yam Zapolsky.
