The historiographic work 30 Books on the Origin of Poles and Their Deeds by Marcin Kromer was first published in Basel in 1555. This is a copy of the third edition. The book is decorated with portraits of Sigismund the Old and Sigismund Augustus and includes an eulogy for Sigismund the Old by the author, who was also the secretary to the Ruler of Poland and Lithuania.
