Format: I. Folio. (12),+ 233,+ (6) pp. Minor spotting, pp. 49-55 with a small hole in inner margin. Title page with torn away corner with partial loss of printing data. Ink blob on p. (3), stain on p. 63-64 and slight moisture stripe in the upper margin initially.

Two chronicles, edited by Reiner Reineccius from Steinheim. Helmold von Bosaus' slavic chronicle is in the second edition, but the first that contains the continuation by Arnold von Lübeck.

The second work is a chronicle of Sachsen,"Res gestae Saxonicae", from the earliest times to the year 997, written by Wittekindus (or Widukind) from Corvey (ca 925-73).

Two columns, published by Reiner Reineccius from Steinheim. Second edition of Helmold von Bosaus Slavic chronicle, but the first that also includes Arnold von Lübeck continuation. The first edition came out in 1556. A new critical edition published by Henry Bangertus came out in 1659. It was also reprinted in Lindenbrogs important "Scriptores rerum germanicarum", 1706th Chronicles dealing with mission among the Slavs in the Baltic. Helmolds chronicle ends in 1170 and Arnold continues until the 1209. Here published together with Reineccius history of Henry IV (Canossa) and Pope Gregory VII. Thanks to this addition, the book was put on the papal list of banned books, index Librorum Prohibitorum, up to 1948. Helmold (ca. 1108-ca 1177) was born in Holstein and was active on a mission. Arnold (ca. 1150-ca 1212) was the Abbe in the Benedictine monastery of Saint John in Lübeck. Reiner Reineccius from Steinheim (1541-95) was a German historian, and from 1578 Professor of History at the University of Frankfurt an der Oder. The second work is a history of Saxony, "Res gestae Saxonicae", from the earliest times to the year 997, written by Wittekindus (or Widukind) from Corvey (c. 925-73), Saxon historian and author.

Abbott of the Lübeck Benedictine monastery Arnold von Lübeck (1150– ~1212) continued Helmold von Bosau’s Slavic Chronicle with a description of events up to 1209. The second edition was prepared in 1581by the German historian Reiner Reineccius (1541–1595). He also added his own work History of the Life of Emperor Henry IV and Hildebrand, the Pope of Rome Gregory VII (Historia de vita imp. caes. Henrici IIII Aug. et Hiltebrandi, Pontificis Rom. cognomento Gregorij VII). The book is bound with the history of Saxony by the Benedictine monk Widukind of Corvey (~925–973), Annals of Benedictine Monk Widukind of Corvey (Annales Witichindi Monachi Corbeiensis, familiae Benedictinae..., Francofurti ad Moenum, 1577).
